Born on 17 January 1978 in Ljubljana. He is one of the main representatives of the new generation of Slovenian musicians, striving for the revitalisation, preservation and modernisation of the Slovenian jazz scene. For a number of years he has been one of the leading Slovenian double bass players. For a number of years he has organised and managed the traditional jazz evenings in the Gajo Jazz Club, Ljubljana.
He frequently performs abroad, most often in the neighbouring countries. This year he completed a successful tour of Finland with Peter Mihelič, and he was the co creator and performer of Zoran Predin's gypsy swing programme in France, England and Scotland. He also worked with globally renowned jazz musicians like: Deborah Brown, Rachel Gould, Renato Chicco, Aron Goldberg, Peter Mihelič, Howard Curtis, Doug Sides.
Matošić is an esteemed musician, performing in all musical genres, thus colleagues focusing on a variety of musical expressions frequently invite him to participate in their projects: for example Adi Smolar, Oto Pestner, young jazz ensembles and many others.
